My son who is 28 just confessed to smoking crack and using cocaine. I have never in my life done drugs. I don't know how to help him. I took him to the health dept. this week for a screening. He was to go in next week for an assessment but now he is refussing to go saying he can beat this himself. He is with a g/f who is older then myself. She is 55. I know she has to be using as well. Who would stay with someone like this if they weren't? He came to me recently b/c he is late on his rent that was due May 1 2011. So sad. I just wish I knew where to turn to. He had gone 6 days and then I seen him tonight and my heart is broken all over again. Can he help himself or will he have to go to a detox place? Again, sorry for being so dumb but as I said I have never done things like this nor do I drink. Life is to beautiful for me to waste a day living like he does.

My 42 year old daughter has recently told us she started using crack about a year and a half ago. I have raised her 3 children the oldest is 20 now. Renee always had alot going for her, she is still beautiful and smart when she is clean. This only lasts about 3-4 days at a time. It is tearing her family apart. I want to help her but everything I have tried doesn't seem to matter. She has her own home but prefers to beg on the street. Please help

My husband is a crack addict for all 21 years I have known him. The only time i have known him to be clean is when he has been in prison. I too was once addicted to crack, but by the grace of God I was freed from addiction over 5yrs ago. I am currently separated from my husband, who lives in another state. He told me he found this website and wanted me to have a look. I did visit your site once, but my husband speaks to me about your broadcasts that he has been listening too. I decided to write to you, because I need to know what, if anything I can do to assist or not, in his quest to become freed of the Crack Man that he is and continues to be. Because I am fed up with waiting for him to do the right things. Can you help.

My son has been a crack addict for 7-8 yrs. He has been to rehab once about 5 yrs ago. He is 28 yrs old. He was clean for about 10 months in 2010. Has been.. going downhill about the last 5 months. I know recovery is up to him but it's very hard watching him slowly kill himself. He has a good job and suprisingly his addiction hasn't affected that yet. He moved in about a year ago to save money and around that time was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thank God things are going well with that. We are in the process of trying to move him out of our house as we know it's not helping him by living with us. I don't think he will last a month back out on his own, but stress is really affecting my husbands and my relationship and we need to take care of ourselves.

I have been on crack for about 10 years. I want the madness to stop. I think that death is preferable to the hell of living in addiction. I have tried the 12 step programs, and it helps for a while. I have been in hospitals and rehabs, nothing seems to work for long.
